Traditional Birth Attendants
Filmed in Southern Sudan, this film is a companion for the traditional
birth attendant training program that Tearfund
has produced for Southern Sudan. The film and manual are used to
teach Traditional Birth Attendants the best practices to help women
safely deliver in remote locations as well as good post-natal care.
PAL
Target audience: Primary target is TBAs for use in educational
situations. This is an information, training film. The most important
part of this film will be its visual content, illustrating good
practice. The use of acted scenes will be to create a realistic
setting more than to provide precise documentary. Since the idea
is doing correct, safe, clean practice, we will not use bad practice
to compare, lest someone remember a wrong practice. If possible
local music will be obtained to retain as much local flavor as possible.
This film will utilize the TBA training manual and will seek to
coordinate with its flip chart so that there are visual connections
between the training and the film. In addition, it is possible that
case stories from the manual may be used in the film.
